Jake Buie - 16, Malden Missouri
Jake had his first seizure in August of 2001 just prior to turning 10. He was diagnosed with Lafora on October 2, 2007, 3 days shy of turning 16.
One of reasons to raise awareness and much needed dollars for research for Lafora is the fact that Jake was having seizures and cognitive issues for 6 years before a diagnosis was made. A diagnosis should not have taken 6 years.
