On behalf of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, I wish to express our appreciation for your donation to the Chelsea’s Hope: Lafora Children’s Research Fund within the Department of Neurology. This resource will be used to further our research, which is focused on not only improving treatments that enhance the quality of life for individuals with Lafora progressive myoclonus epilepsy, but also ultimately finding a cure. It is through contributions such as yours that my colleagues and I can step up the pace to more fully understand this devastating condition and thus bring innovative care to those who suffer from it. Future research into treatment and a cure for Lafora Disease is only possible with your generous contribution. Up to this point, Lafora Research has been extremely limited and receives little federal or private funding due to its orphan disease classification.
